Lock this in writing

An estimate based on what you selected, not a bill. We confirm a firm flat price in writing after a quick look at your situation — and if it turns out simpler than it looked, the price goes down, not up. Prices honoured for 30 days from August 10, 2026.

Signed by your preparerEvery return we prepare for a fee is signed by a paid preparer holding a current IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number.
Encrypted document portalClient information is encrypted in transit and at rest, with multi-factor authentication. Never email a Social Security number.
Flat fees, quoted upfrontYou approve the price in writing before any work starts. No hourly billing.
Accuracy guaranteeA calculation or data-entry error by us means we pay the resulting penalty and interest — never the tax itself. Terms and limits below.
Remote, nothing in personPhone, video and secure upload. Federal returns nationwide; state returns wherever we are registered.
One preparer, start to finishYou work with the same person all year — not a call-centre queue.
How it works

Six steps, about an hour of your time, no office visit.

The most common question we get is how a fully remote firm actually works. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.

  1. 1 3 minutes

    Tell us about your situation

Answer a short set of questions online, or call and we will take it down for you. No account to create, no credit card.

  2. 2 Same day

Get a flat quote in writing

You receive a fixed price and a document list by email, usually within a few hours on a business day. If your situation turns out to be simpler than it looked, the price goes down, not up.

  3. 3 15 minutes

    Upload your documents securely

A private encrypted portal opens for you. Snap photos from your phone or drag files in. We chase anything that is missing so you do not have to remember.

  4. 4 5–10 days

    We prepare and you review

Your preparer builds the return, asks any questions in one batch, and then walks you through the result on a call — what you owe or are owed, and why.

  5. 5 24 hours

    You approve, we e-file

You sign Form 8879 electronically. We transmit, confirm acceptance with the IRS and your state, and send you a permanent copy of everything.

  6. 6 Year-round

    We stay reachable all year

Notices, questions, a new job, a house, a business — email or call. We do not disappear on April 16.

Pricing

Flat fees, published openly. No hourly billing, no April surprises.

You get a firm number in writing before we begin. If your situation turns out to be simpler than it first looked, we quote the lower tier — that has happened plenty of times and it will keep happening.

The fine print, up front

The things most firms bury, printed on the homepage.

If any of this is going to be a problem, far better that you know now than after you have sent us a folder of documents.

Xelvon Tax Advisors LLC is not a certified public accounting firm and is not a law firm. We are not certified public accountants, attorneys or enrolled agents, and we are not licensed by the Utah Board of Accountancy or any state board of accountancy. We do not provide audit, review, compilation, attest or assurance services, and we do not provide legal or investment advice. We do not have authority to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service. We can prepare and explain a written response for you to sign and send yourself, and we will refer you to a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent or a tax attorney when a matter needs one.

Preparing and e-filing federal and state tax returns, keeping books, running payroll, filing information returns and planning ahead do not require a CPA licence — that is the work we do. Read the full scope of practice.

Our accuracy guarantee, in full. If a mathematical or data-entry error made by us in preparing your return causes an IRS or state penalty or interest charge you would not otherwise have owed, we pay that penalty and interest, we amend the return at no charge, and we handle the correspondence at no charge.

What it does not cover: the underlying tax you legitimately owe; errors caused by information you did not give us, gave us late, or gave us incorrectly; positions you instructed us to take against our advice; penalties for filing or paying late where the delay was not ours; changes in law applied retroactively; and the outcome of an examination of a judgement-based position. It is not a satisfaction guarantee and it is not a money-back guarantee.

How to claim, and the cap: send us the complete notice within 30 days of its date. We respond within five business days and pay verified amounts within 30 days. Claims are capped at the greater of the fees you paid for that engagement or $2,500 per return. Full policy.

Where we can and cannot work. We prepare federal returns for taxpayers anywhere in the United States, and state returns for every state except those listed here. A small number of states license or register tax return preparers, and we do not offer services there until our registration is in place. We cannot currently prepare any returns for residents of Connecticut and New York, where a state preparer registration is required before a firm may prepare returns or advertise. We cannot currently prepare individual income tax returns for residents of Maryland and Oregon; business and fiduciary returns for those states are outside that restriction. If you live in one of these states, call (435) 341-4014 and we will tell you exactly where our registration stands rather than take work we cannot do.

Why people switch

The parts of tax season that annoy everyone — removed.

What people tell us they left behind

  • An invoice at the end that is bigger than the number they were told
  • A different person every year, re-explaining the same rental property
  • Nobody answering the phone between April 16 and January
  • Driving to an office to hand over a folder of paper
  • Software that asks 300 questions and still gets the K-1 wrong
  • Fees quietly deducted from the refund, plus a bank fee on top

What working with Xelvon looks like

  • A flat price agreed in writing before any work starts
  • The same preparer, who already knows your situation next year
  • Reachable year-round, because notices do not arrive in season
  • Photograph your documents from the kitchen table and upload them
  • A human reads every form and asks about the things that do not add up
  • You pay us directly; the IRS deposits your refund straight to you
Who you will be working with

Joseph Edwin Fox

Managing Member, Xelvon Tax Advisors LLC. Joseph founded Xelvon on a simple bet: that most people do not want a bigger firm, they want a straight answer, a price they can plan around, and somebody who picks up the phone in July.

Xelvon is an IRS-registered paid preparer firm, not a CPA firm — and we would rather tell you that on the homepage than bury it. Preparing returns, keeping books, running payroll and planning ahead is the work we do and are permitted to do. When a matter genuinely needs a CPA, an enrolled agent or a tax attorney, we say so early and help you hand it off cleanly. Read our full scope of practice.

More about Xelvon

Common questions

The things people ask before they hire us.

Are you CPAs?

No, and we say so on the homepage rather than burying it. Xelvon Tax Advisors LLC is not a certified public accounting firm and is not a law firm; nobody here is a CPA, an attorney or an enrolled agent, and we are not licensed by the Utah Board of Accountancy or any state board of accountancy. Returns we prepare for a fee are signed by a paid preparer holding a current IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN). Preparing and e-filing federal and state returns, keeping books, running payroll and planning ahead do not require a CPA licence, and that is exactly the work we do. What we do not do is audit, review or compile financial statements, give legal or investment advice, or represent you before the IRS. When a matter needs one of those, we say so early and help you find the right person.

Everything is online — how does that actually work?

The same way it works in an office, minus the drive. You upload documents to an encrypted portal from your phone or laptop, we ask questions by email or text, and we walk you through the finished return on a phone or video call before anything is filed. You sign electronically. Most clients spend well under an hour of their own time from start to finish.

How much will my return cost?

You will know before we start. Every engagement gets a flat, written quote — no hourly billing and no invoice at the end that is bigger than you expected. Individual returns start at $295 for a W-2 return with the standard deduction, including one state return and e-filing; business returns start at $520. Additional states, extra rental properties, additional K-1s and foreign reporting are priced separately and appear on your quote before you commit. The instant estimator on our pricing page gives you a number in about thirty seconds.

What states do you serve?

We are based in Utah and work with multi-state filers, people who moved mid-year, and remote workers who owe tax in a state they have never set foot in.

What if you make a mistake?

If a mathematical or data-entry error made by us causes an IRS or state penalty or interest charge you would not otherwise have owed, we pay that penalty and interest, amend the return at no charge, and handle the correspondence at no charge. It does not cover the underlying tax you legitimately owe, errors caused by information we were not given or were given incorrectly, positions you asked us to take against our advice, or late-filing penalties caused by delays that were not ours. Claims must reach us within 30 days of the notice date and are capped at the greater of the fees paid for that engagement or $2,500 per return. It is not a satisfaction guarantee or a money-back guarantee. The full policy is on our payment and guarantee page.

Can you help if I have not filed for a few years?

Yes, and it is more common than you think. We pull your IRS wage and income transcripts to reconstruct what was reported about you, prepare the missing years in order so carryforwards flow correctly, and where the facts support it we prepare a penalty relief request for you to sign. Most people are surprised by how much less it costs than the worry.
