Instant estimate

Build your number in about thirty seconds.

Pick what describes your year and add anything unusual. The estimator uses exactly the same prices as the tables below — there is no hidden markup waiting at the end.

  • No email address and no account needed to see the number
  • Your selection carries over to the quote form if you continue
  • The written quote we send back is what you actually pay
  • Every tier includes the federal return, one state and e-filing

Not sure which one you are? Pick the closest and add a note when you request the quote — or just call (435) 341-4014 and describe your year in a sentence. Getting you into the right tier is our job, not yours.

Lock this in writing

An estimate based on what you selected, not a bill. We confirm a firm flat price in writing after a quick look at your situation — and if it turns out simpler than it looked, the price goes down, not up. Prices honoured for 30 days from August 10, 2026.

Books and return together. Monthly bookkeeping clients take 15% off the business return, and the owner’s personal return is prepared alongside it so the K-1, the basis and the estimated payments all agree with each other. That coordination is where most of the errors we clean up for new clients came from.

Monthly services

Transaction counts are the total lines flowing through your bank and card accounts in a month. If you are consistently over a tier we tell you and move you up — and if you are consistently under, we move you down. Payroll is priced separately in the table below.

Bundles

Everything for the year, in one monthly figure.

The same services as above, bought together. Each card shows what the identical work costs à la carte from the tables on this page, so you can check the saving rather than take our word for it. Twelve-month term, billed monthly in advance.

Self-Employed Essentials

For a freelancer or single-member LLC who wants the whole year handled.

$265/month

$3,180 a year · the same work priced separately comes to $3,555, so this saves $375.

  • Schedule C personal return with one state ($520, less the 15% bookkeeping discount = $442)
  • All four quarterly estimated tax calculations (already free with a Schedule C return)
  • Micro bookkeeping, up to 75 transactions a month ($249 × 12 = $2,988)
  • 1099-NEC filing for up to five contractors ($125)

Bundles assume the situation described on the card. Extra states, extra rental properties, additional K-1s, additional employees and higher bookkeeping volume are priced from the tables below and appear on your written quote before you commit. Cancel with 30 days’ notice after the twelve-month term; prepaid months are refunded in full.

Everything else

Add-ons and one-off work, priced the same way.

Nothing here is a surprise charge. If any of it applies to you it appears on your written quote before you commit, and if it turns out not to apply, it comes off.

The things other firms bill separately.

A review call before anything is filed

We walk through the result with you — what you owe or are owed, and why it landed where it did. Nothing is transmitted until you have seen it.

A secure encrypted portal

Unlimited uploads, organised by year, available to you for as long as you are a client. No per-document fees.

Notices caused by our error

If we made the mistake, reading the notice, drafting the response and paying the penalty are all on us.

Extension filing

Federal and state extensions filed free for clients. An extension buys filing time, not payment time, and we will tell you what to pay with it.

Next year’s estimated payments

Included free with any self-employed or business return, so you are not guessing in April.

Year-round questions

A new job, a house, a business idea, a letter in September — email or call. We do not bill for a five-minute question.

The fine print, up front

What the guarantee covers, and what we are not.

Printed here in full rather than hidden behind a link, because a guarantee you have to go looking for is not much of a guarantee.

Our accuracy guarantee, in full. If a mathematical or data-entry error made by us in preparing your return causes an IRS or state penalty or interest charge you would not otherwise have owed, we pay that penalty and interest, we amend the return at no charge, and we handle the correspondence at no charge.

What it does not cover: the underlying tax you legitimately owe; errors caused by information you did not give us, gave us late, or gave us incorrectly; positions you instructed us to take against our advice; penalties for filing or paying late where the delay was not ours; changes in law applied retroactively; and the outcome of an examination of a judgement-based position. It is not a satisfaction guarantee and it is not a money-back guarantee.

How to claim, and the cap: send us the complete notice within 30 days of its date. We respond within five business days and pay verified amounts within 30 days. Claims are capped at the greater of the fees you paid for that engagement or $2,500 per return. Full policy.

Xelvon Tax Advisors LLC is not a certified public accounting firm and is not a law firm. We are not certified public accountants, attorneys or enrolled agents, and we are not licensed by the Utah Board of Accountancy or any state board of accountancy. We do not provide audit, review, compilation, attest or assurance services, and we do not provide legal or investment advice. We do not have authority to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service. We can prepare and explain a written response for you to sign and send yourself, and we will refer you to a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent or a tax attorney when a matter needs one.

Preparing and e-filing federal and state tax returns, keeping books, running payroll, filing information returns and planning ahead do not require a CPA licence — that is the work we do. Read the full scope of practice.

Where we can and cannot work. We prepare federal returns for taxpayers anywhere in the United States, and state returns for every state except those listed here. A small number of states license or register tax return preparers, and we do not offer services there until our registration is in place. We cannot currently prepare any returns for residents of Connecticut and New York, where a state preparer registration is required before a firm may prepare returns or advertise. We cannot currently prepare individual income tax returns for residents of Maryland and Oregon; business and fiduciary returns for those states are outside that restriction. If you live in one of these states, call (435) 341-4014 and we will tell you exactly where our registration stands rather than take work we cannot do.

Pricing questions

What people ask before they commit.

Why flat fees instead of an hourly rate?

Because an hourly rate makes our incentives and yours point in opposite directions, and because nobody can plan around a number they will not see until the work is done. A flat fee means you decide with full information, and the risk of a return taking longer than expected sits with us, where it belongs.

Is the published price really what I will pay?

Yes, for the situation described. We publish these prices and honour them for 30 days from August 10, 2026. Your written quote is the binding number, and it is issued before any work starts. The only way it changes afterwards is if the scope genuinely changes — a business you did not mention, a second state, a K-1 that arrives late — and even then we stop, quote the difference in writing, and wait for you to say yes.

What if my return turns out to be simpler than I thought?

We quote the lower tier. That is not a marketing line; it is the natural result of pricing after we have looked. It happens most often with people who assume investment activity is complicated when their broker has issued one clean consolidated 1099.

Do you take your fee out of my refund?

No, and we would advise against anyone who offers to. Refund-transfer products add bank fees on top of the preparation fee, route your money through a third party, and slow it down. You pay us directly by card or bank transfer, and the IRS deposits your refund straight into your own account.

When do I pay?

For tax returns, half when you accept the quote and the balance before we transmit the e-file. Monthly bookkeeping and payroll are billed in advance on the first business day of the month. We accept credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfer, and cheque by post on request.

Is there a discount for using more than one service?

Yes. Monthly bookkeeping clients take 15% off the business tax return, because clean books we maintained ourselves take materially less time to turn into a return. Quarterly estimates for the following year are included free with any self-employed or business return.

What does the accuracy guarantee actually cover?

If a mathematical or data-entry error on our side causes an IRS or state penalty or interest charge you would not otherwise have owed, we pay that penalty and interest, amend the return at no charge, and handle the correspondence at no charge. It does not cover the underlying tax you legitimately owe, or errors caused by information that was not given to us. The full terms, including the claim procedure and the cap, are on our payment and guarantee page.
